COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION & VOLUNTEERING

It was the City of Irrigon and Cascadian Landscapers, Inc. goal to make this children's park project a community build. Multiple Planning and Development Meetings were held encouraging Irrigon's community members to attend and partake in the design process.
The community's involvement during this design process helped us understand and respond to their needs and concerns, guide park layout, helped to determine which park features are most important to them and their children, and helped to learn about more labor, material or equipment donations to help with park completion.
A Volunteer Day was scheduled for community members to come to the park and participate in labor activities to help build the park. The turnout was great! The positive attitudes and helpfulness of the community as a whole made this project one of Cascadian's favorite to manage and build.
